Daily Skin Care+ New Products 01-03-2019


CHOCOLATE today

Morning routine: Innisfree Green Tea foam cleanser; Nuxe Prodigieuse Boost eye and concentrate; Alga Maris Crème Solaire SPF 50 Visage UVA and UVB from Laboratoires de Biarritz (Bio & Ecocert); SO Bio Etic BB cream(Bio & Ecocert) and the usual make up.
No spots, everything looks fine.

Bought four new goodies yesterday at Celeiro, two of which are already in use:
v  Sante Lip Lacquer colour gloss 06 Infinite Ruby (German; NaTrue & BDIH). IT’S RED and I live it!!!! Doesn’t disappear completely if you drink, but when wiping your lips it will go to the napkin and away from the lips. Doesn’t dry the lips, no sticky feeling, really good!
v  Sante Lipstick No. 23 Poppy Red (German; NaTrue & BDIH). A pinkish red. Grandmother has been using it for a few days and this one doesn’t have the same staying power as the Lacquer, but she says it’s very moisturizing. Of course neither are matt. 
v  Nelsons Calendula skin soother cream (Made in the UK). I see no seals or marks from ecocert or bio, but I checked the ingredients list and they are all perfectly safe. This is for my hands to see how it fares compared to the Avène Cicalfate.
v  Huile de Soin Beauté du Buste by Laboratoires Haut-Ségala (French, Bio, Ecocert). As the name states, a blend of oils to help nourish and firm the bust. It says to wet a cloth (with ice cold water!) and apply it to the boost once the oil has been absorbed. I don’t think this will happen in winter, maybe once the cold goes away…

Note to self: YOUR LIPS ARE TOO DRY AND MATT LOOKS HORRIBLE ON YOU. You tried it and it dries the lips even more. NEVER TRY MATT AGAIN!!!!


Night routine: Nuxe cleansing oil; OLD FORMULA Logona Klärende Reinigungsschaum; Nuxe Prodigieuse Boost oil balm night. And Huile de Soin Beauté du Buste by Laboratoires Haut-Ségala, with no cold.

ISDIN Fusion Water SPF 50+ Review and thoughts

Definitely my favourite sunscreen to date. I’ve tried an array of products over the years and this is the 2 nd that left a very good impression. The first one, by the way, was The Body Shop’s sunscreen for the body that existed over 15 years ago, when I was still a teenager. The reason: after my usual beach period in the summer, not forgetting I was a stupid teenager that didn’t care about the sun that much, I was the exact same colour as before. No bikini marks anywhere and no tan! Most people like to tan, but I like to enjoy the beach without tanning. I cannot say for sure that the ISDIN Fusion Water does the same, because as soon as the sun starts warming up in Spring, I either wear hats (if you see someone wearing a hat on the street it’s probably me, nobody else wears them) or hide in the shade. Sunscreen talk

The more you read, the more you research, the more confused you get. That’s how I feel, anyway. Sunscreen is such a complicated science , I think it should be a subject on it’s own available to everybody at school, from a very early age. There are, and will always be, different opinions and for those of us that didn’t go to medical school, it becomes a very big problem. Are they stable, are they safe, are we applying the right amount of product, are we cancelling out SPfs by using other products or even spreading it properly all over the exposed areas, or applying it frequently enough? After many reading and video watching, both always bearing doctor’s opinions, my only conclusion is that most of us are doing it wrong and will continue to do so. Pixi Order arrival and daily ramblings 23th May 2019

I received my order from LookFantastic, that I paid with my own money, yesterday! Two Pixi products: Glow Mud Cleanser and the H2O Skin Drink . Of course I used the cleanser yesterday, instead of the Innisfree one. It was a complete different, and still is, experience for me: it doesn’t foam. For me it’s something new, don’t’judge! I’ve always used foam cleansers, without the harsh foaming ingredient SLS, but they still foam up. This does not and it will take some time for me to get used to that fact, it feels as if it’s not doing the job properly. Yet, I used it again this morning and evening. And the glow tonic after. Although while applying the tonic it did sting a bit, it’s been almost an hour and no more stinging or itchiness came about, like the other three times. I’m happy! Next it’s the Caudalie Vino Perfect Serum. However, yesterday night, after cleansing my face, I noticed a small red spot close my nose, on my right cheek.
