Avène TriAcnéal Expert and rambling

Sehr warm heute! I’m starting to think that some of the red spots that have been appearing lately have more to do with allergies and stress. When I’m too stressed, I tend to get allergic reactions. They are itchy and don’t feel like regular pimples. I’ve been doing the usual: v   Avène TriAcnéal Expert – 3 nights a week: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays v   Pixi Glow Tonic – 4 nights a week: Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays v   Pixi Glow Mud Cleanser has been used every single day and night, for over a week v   Pixi Peel&Polish - two mornings: Tuesday and Saturday Of course sunscreen is used daily. I haven’t noticed anything different yet, except for the occasional red spots that have yet to be understood. But again, the stress and lack of good sleep, could be one of the causes. I’m really curious to try the Retinol Tonic, though, and see what it can do. In the meantime, I’ve grown accustomed to “no lather” Mud cleanser and quite lik...

La Roche-Posay AtheliosXL Anti shine - 26th May 2019

Hot again! I’ve just watched a short video on youtube about Queen Victoria’s make up and also how she did her hair and right now I’m truly envious of longer hair. They did such a cute hair style with braids and for me that’s not possible. I did try, and failed. It’s too short… and yet it needs to be cut, just a bit too get rid of the split ends, but of course it’s going to affect the length. WHY DOES MY HAIR TAKE SOOOO LONG TO GROW???? My skin feels a bit itchy and prickly today as it felt yesterday, after applying the Glow Tonic. The Caudalie Vino Perfect serum was the follow up product and nothing else was used. Last week Sunday was rest day, meaning no Glycolic, just simple and calming moisturizers and a mask. My face was already washed with the Mud cleanser in the morning (containing glycolic) and that makes me unsure about what products to use at night, apart from the usual Nuxe oil to remove the sunscreen, eyeshadow and blush. It was also “new product day”. The La...

Pixi Order arrival and daily ramblings 23th May 2019

I received my order from LookFantastic, that I paid with my own money, yesterday! Two Pixi products: Glow Mud Cleanser and the H2O Skin Drink . Of course I used the cleanser yesterday, instead of the Innisfree one. It was a complete different, and still is, experience for me: it doesn’t foam. For me it’s something new, don’t’judge! I’ve always used foam cleansers, without the harsh foaming ingredient SLS, but they still foam up. This does not and it will take some time for me to get used to that fact, it feels as if it’s not doing the job properly. Yet, I used it again this morning and evening. And the glow tonic after. Although while applying the tonic it did sting a bit, it’s been almost an hour and no more stinging or itchiness came about, like the other three times. I’m happy! Next it’s the Caudalie Vino Perfect Serum. However, yesterday night, after cleansing my face, I noticed a small red spot close my nose, on my right cheek. It was there this morning and I used the Vichy...

It stings! Daily ramblings 21th May 2019

It stings! My face feels really smooth, but it stings. It’s the third time I’ve used the Pixi Glow Tonic. And the Pixi Peel&Polish was used in the morning. Interestingly enough, my face doesn’t feel smooth or soft after the Peel&Polish. It doesn’t sting, though… Complicated situation. What should one do? For the time being these will continue to be part of my routine as follows: Glow Tonic on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at night time; and the Peel&Polish mornings twice a week , but it needs adjustment regarding which days exactly. This now needs to be topped of with the Caudalie Vino Perfect serum, to moisturise and calm. Today was not a good day for me. There’s this disgusting, rude and vulgar man that keeps throwing himself at me every time he sees me, even when my grandparents are right there next to me! I felt so nauseated, I could barely eat lunch. And now I just want to think about anything else, since bedtime is approaching. Now that I’ve had a good ...

Daily ramblings 20th May 2019

Early morning was beautiful, not a cloud in the sky and quite warm. It all changed near noon. Cold, clouds, wind, all in all very unpleasant. However I did manage to wear a dress and walk around my legs “naked”. Middle of the afternoon and it’s so-so, but the wind doesn’t want to leave us. Yesterday, Sunday, my skin did rest at night. No retinol, no acid. Just the Caudalie Vino Perfect serum and the Nuxellence eye cream. My skin thanked me, but my mind decided it should be another sleepless night. Thank you very much! I did use the “proper” amount of sunscreen today, but without any powder, just a blush. It didn’t become oily or overly shiny. Towards the end of the week the temperatures should rise and I am curious to see what will happen with this much sunscreen on very hot days. Now I’m going to wash my face and apply the Triacneal. My face has been stinging slightly for a couple of hours now, but I’m not going to give up on the Glow Tonic just yet. Sleep will probably ...

Sunscreen Talk part 2

Slept well tonight, but I’m still feeling very tired and sleepy throughout the day. The good news is, that two of the red spots are gone and the one on my left cheek below my eye is almost gone as well, practically unnoticeable. This means the red spots aren’t related with the Pixi Glow Tonic. Yesterday I was really attentive on everything happening to my skin after the washing. I removed my make up with the Nuxe oil and then used the Innisfree Green Tea foam as a second cleanse. And then came the Pixi Glow Tonic . While applying it, there is a very slight tingly feeling to it, nothing that would scare me though. Right after applying the Glow Tonic, my skin felt SOOOOO smooth and on that note, for 30 minutes nothing else was added to my skin, but I felt a sting here and there . At this point apprehension started to invade me. Yet, I decided to use a Simple Anti-Polution Sheet Mask to help hydrate the skin. It calmed my skin and there was no adverse reaction, although the Aloe Vera ...

Sunscreen talk

The more you read, the more you research, the more confused you get. That’s how I feel, anyway. Sunscreen is such a complicated science , I think it should be a subject on it’s own available to everybody at school, from a very early age. There are, and will always be, different opinions and for those of us that didn’t go to medical school, it becomes a very big problem. Are they stable, are they safe, are we applying the right amount of product, are we cancelling out SPfs by using other products or even spreading it properly all over the exposed areas, or applying it frequently enough? After many reading and video watching, both always bearing doctor’s opinions, my only conclusion is that most of us are doing it wrong and will continue to do so. "How is it that in the 30s there was 1 in melanoma case in 1,500 people and nowadays there is 1 case in 50" (I think I got the data right, refer to this video on Caroline Hirons youtube channel, her advices and videos have been su...
